There are two main routes to gear up:
1) If you can donate $10 or more…
(=the purpose of this guide is simply to show you how to trade a little bit of money to buy convenience and save your time while leveling up.)
A $10 donation to the LifeTO server = 10,000 bals = 40,000 MS (MyShop) points.
(Note: The MS offers regular gear sets for levels 70, 90, 110, 130, 150, and 170 across all types.)
Here is what you should buy and how to compound them:
-
For Power/Charm types & Alts:
- Lv70 North Wind Special Set:
- Sword: Tornado Stone (Use White & Black Elixirs)
- Helm: DX (Use only Black Elixirs)
- Shield: HP (No elixirs needed)
- Lv110 Sharon Special Set:
- Sword: Water Stone (Use White & Black Elixirs)
- Hat: DX (Use only Black Elixirs)
- Shield: HP (Use only Black Elixirs, or skip elixirs entirely)
-
For Magic types:
- Lv70 Western Wind Special Set:
- Staff: LK
- Hat: MA
- Shield: Do nothing (Compounding the shield isn’t worth it, so just skip it.)
(Followed by the Lv110 Orchid Special Set or Lv130 Pluto Special Set later. And lv110 and lv130 shield should be comped with MP for later guardian building.)
-
For Throwing Foxes and Lions:
Just the Lv90 Jazz Xeno Special Set.
*dagger+hat+shield: full DA with black elixirs.
(Of course, you can consider buying the Lv110+ special sets later to boost your DA, the core damage stat for throwing builds.)
-
For Gunners:
- You must buy the Lv70 Aeolus Special Set (Gun + Hat + Pet).
- (You can also aim for the Lv130+ (like Mercury Special Set) later.)
Elixir Tip:
When your character reaches Lv80, you will get 15 Black Elixirs and 15 White Elixirs. You can buy a Magic Stone (Lv65) and use only your Black Elixirs when you do Mature Compounding.
Some players might say, “It’s a waste of Black Elixirs to use them on low-level equipment,”
but this is definitely wrong. If you want to get the high stats from Mature Compounding on end-game gear, you will exclusively need White or Amethyst Elixirs and a lot of tries.
In other words, Black Elixirs are perfect for casual use on low-level transitional gear (up to Lv170).
2) If you have no intention to spend/donate real money…
Just use the Town Sets. They are actually really decent! Town sets provide huge DP, MD, and HP, which makes your gameplay much safer and more comfortable.
A Quick Word on Late-Game Gear (Lv171+):
Please keep in mind that the regular gear sets sold in the MS generally lack DP significantly. Once you reach Lv171 and beyond, it is absolutely more advantageous to buy equipment from other players’ personal shops in Megalopolis Square—specifically, the items they get from opening gacha boxes.
For BiS (Best in Slot) setups, please look up other dedicated guides.
And if you’re ever unsure about anything, just ping buffybuffa in the official LifeTO Discord!
Crucial Compounding Warnings: Magic Stones vs. Stat Stones “Stat Magic Stones” can only be purchased from the MS, whereas regular “stat stones” are dropped by monsters. When I say “Magic Stone” in this guide, I specifically mean the ones from the MS. If you are just using regular dropped “stat stones” for mature compounding, DO NOT use any elixirs. It is a clear waste.
- Elemental Stones: Materials like Tornado or Water stones can be easily purchased from other players’ personal shops.
- Attribute Capsules: DO NOT buy Attribute/Elemental Capsules from the MS! They are low-level capsules, meaning the minimum stat cap will be absolutely abysmal. Statistics don’t lie.
- (attribute capsule should be bought lv170, 185 and 200 only.)
